Focus On Brand and Experience Design

Designit names several hires as part of its growth strategy in the Americas: Kevin O’Connor as director of growth, Meghan Byrnes-Borderan as executive experience design director, Myles Washington as experience design director, and Amanda Santello as experience design director. The firm is a global experience innovation agency, owned by Wipro, and home to a team of 700+.

O’Connor, Santello and Washington have deep client-side experience, while Byrnes-Borderan has a track record in building high-performance design practices within networked agencies.

O’Connor will report to Erik Wagner, executive client director, Designit Americas. Washington, Byrnes-Borderan, and Santello will report to America’s head of design and creative, Christine Pizzo, who was appointed in the Spring. A core part of their remit will be to support Pizzo in developing Designit’s full-service offerings under design and creative, solving holistic brand and experience challenges from clients.

O’Connor joins from Select Blinds where he was VP of marketing. Prior to this, he was director of digital marketing at Sprouts Farmers Market, following a five-year stint at Tribal Worldwide where he rose to the position of head of business development.

Byrnes-Borderan, a financial services, insurance and energy subject matter expert, joins following an eight-year stint at Wipro management and technology company Capco, where she worked in capacities including executive director, head of design, and experience design lead. She had an international portfolio with US clients including Morgan Stanley/E*Trade, JP Morgan, UBS, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, Citi; Canadian CIBC and Co-Operators; and Brazilian companies Bradesco and Next Bank.

Washington joins from GE Healthcare and will primarily support on healthcare, entertainment, and automotive opportunities, driving strategic innovation, and digital delivery. He brings more than seven years of client-side expertise in experience design to Designit, having previously held director-level positions at Mirabeau and Neudesic. Washington is a graduate of MIT Sloan, with a specialism in AI in healthcare.

Santello will operate a broad client portfolio from FMCG, aviation, healthcare, among others, leaning on her broad mix of experience both in agency and in house building high-performance design practices within Digitas LBi, Chewy, and most recently Forge. She led large-scale design and delivery for Fortune 100 companies including Bank of America on its consumer app, Dunkin Donuts pre-order on mobile, patient platforms for Biogen, as well as work with United Airlines, BMW and TJX.
