Quibi, short for “quick bites” is a new mobile-centric video platform producing daily content watchable in 10 minutes or less. The platform’s “Daily Essentials” programming includes “The Rachel Hollis Show,” a daily morning talk show hosted by the author and motivational speaker. Working with production company Den of Thieves, creative production studio And/Or‘s challenge was to design and develop a graphics package for the show’s pilot and a graphics toolkit for the series that the show can use on an ongoing basis. In addition, the design had to work for both standard 4k HD format as well as vertical 9:16 format, since Quibi is optimized for mobile viewing, vertical or horizontal. Kelli Miller, Partner and Creative Director, And/Or said: “Considering the mobile format, we had to think about scale of elements and simplicity in our design and work.” And/Or also needed to make sure that the look and animation language was in line with Hollis’ upbeat and motivational message and brand. The solution: a colorful, bold, and confident graphic package, including multiple title card formats with a wide-ranging color palette.
