Publicis Group has named longtime R/GA veteran Nick Law as chief creative officer of the holding company and president of Publicis Communications. Law was most recently global CCO for the R/GA unit of Publicis. The decision to create the role — and have Law fill it — was because company officials felt the group needed “a real reboot” creatively and Law is seen as someone who could be a creative leader with a digital media bent. In the new role, Law is expected to work with the leaders of the group’s creative agencies including Leo Burnett, Saatchi and Saatchi, Publicis Worldwide, Fallon, as well as as Publicis.Sapient, Publicis Health and Publicis Media.
Since joining R/GA in 2001, Law has worked with clients such as Nike, Beats by Dre, Samsung, HBO, Johnson & Johnson, IBM, and Google. During his tenure, R/GA has become one of the most awarded agencies in the world and, for over a decade, he has led the development of many of the agency’s most innovative projects, including Nike+ Running, Nike+ FuelBand, and Beats Music for Beats by Dre. He has twice been named to the Creativity 50 list and has been a GDUSA Person To Watch.
