For the past several years Jovenville has enjoyed a creative partnership with MusiCares and the GRAMMY Foundation to promote the annual Concert for Recovery. It’s a fundraising event that call attentions to the mission of helping those in the music industry dealing with addiction issues.
For the 2018 concert, marketing materials by the Newport Beach CA brand extension agency included an email announcement and digital advertisements, as well as a tribute journal available the day of the concert. Since this year’s concert honored Mike McCready, a founding member of 1990s band Pearl Jam, the Jovenville team built their designs around a theme they called “sophisticated grunge.” Elements included the asymmetrical layouts and overlapping elements that characterized many of the DIY rock posters of the era, but updated for contemporary appeal.
