Following up to last year’s inaugural Hopscotch Design Festival, the second annual event is scheduled to take place in downtown Raleigh NC September 9-10. The festival – a partnership between the New Kind design firm and Hopscotch Music Festival – launched last year as an ongoing event where attendees can discover the people designing the future. The two- day inaugural festival drew over 800 attendees.
The success of Hopscotch Design Festival created a palpable energy among Raleigh’s design community. This year, organizers expect to build off that initial success. “We’re ensuring attendees can network more broadly and come away with inspiration and ideas to use in their own work,” said Matthew Muñoz , festival co-founder and chief design officer at New Kind.
Hopscotch founder and Music Festival Director Greg Lowenhagen agrees, “The addition of the design festival to Hopscotch Music Fest weekend was a success, and we’re excited to continue showcasing Raleigh as a creative center in the South.”
