Bature Brewery, the first craft brewery in Nigeria, along with Glasgow-based creative, design and digital studio Pim-Pam, have released new designs for their core range to coincide with the opening of a new Lagos brewery. They have collaborated with Williams Chechet, the Nigerian pop artist, graphic designer, illustrator and muralist, who has a close connection to the West African art scene, and is represented by the leading contemporary African art gallery, Retro Africa, based in Abuja. Chechet has created vibrant and expressive collage artworks that tie into each beer. His work will feature not only on the packaging, but the inner working of the brewery too. Williams Chechet is influenced by his culture, history, afrofuturism, afrobeats and hip hop, and is pioneering the Afro Pop Art movement.
