WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL INSPIRED?
I’m inspired by day-to-day discoveries while walking around Boston, friends, professors, and professionals in the graphic design industry.
WHAT AREA OF DESIGN ARE YOU HOPING TO WORK IN OR SPECIALIZE IN?
I’m currently interested in branding, editorial/book design, and type design. I have had experience working in exhibition design as well, which I enjoyed.
WHAT IS ONE THING THAT DESIGN SCHOOL HAS TAUGHT YOU THAT YOU DID NOT EXPECT?
Graphic Design is as much about presenting your ideas and projects to your audience as it is about making. It has challenged me to become more outspoken to advocate for my work.
WHO IS SOMEONE YOU LOOK UP TO IN YOUR FIELD? EITHER TODAY OR HISTORICALLY?
I take a lot of inspiration from talented designers I know, to name a few: Danielle Chang, Mina Chung, Perry Sosi, Chen Luo, Jialun Wang, Hannah Hong, Michelle Nie, as well as London-based designer Can Yang (I really like her style).
WHAT ARE YOU READING, LISTENING TO, WATCHING (BOOKS, MOVIES, TV, SOCIAL MEDIA, MUSIC)?
I’m currently reading Karel Martens: Re-Printed Matter, watching The Long Season (漫长的季节) and listening to Wu Bai.
