Brooklyn Pharmacy Is Oasis From City Streets

Sergio Mannino Studio, a design firm for retail spaces, has designed Medly, a new neighborhood pharmacy in Brooklyn NY. The design of the space is intended to be playful and elegant; a buffed custom-made cement counter with clean geometric tiles is at the center of a light aqua color scheme.

The waiting room includes four-seater chairs, in green vinyl leather and chrome, which, explains the studio, is a tribute to 1980s Japanese design icon Shiro Kuramata. As community is a key value of Medly, the design allows for customers to connect with each other and with the staff, in contradistinction to larger pharmacies that separate people through high aisles and sheer size.
