COLLINS De-Trolls Digital Discourse

Fresh, Top Stories January 13, 2022January 24, 2022 Ilana Greenberg

Encouraging Healthy Online Conversations

COLLINS has developed a comprehensive and symbolic brand system for audience relationship platform OpenWeb. Founded in 2021, OpenWeb has evolved from a B2B technology company into a mission-driven enterprise that aims to improve online conversations. OpenWeb is a platform that empowers publishers to form direct relationships with their audiences at scale, rather than outsourcing audience engagement to external social platforms.

To reflect both OpenWeb’s evolution and its mission to fuel relationships between publishers, audiences, and advertisers through healthy online conversation, COLLINS was invited to drive not just a rebranding, but a full-on “reimagination.” The strategy, design, and communications firm turned to 19th century typography and newspaper headlines of decades past for inspiration, in turn creating a narrative that not only represents OpenWeb’s core belief in written communication, but one that hopefully resonates with publishers as well.  Anchored by a minimal logo in the shape of seven W’s that form an “O” – symbolizing harmony and exchange – COLLINS married centuries-old digital styles with modern digital technology and motion design.

The design solution provides the client with a distinct story and voice, helping to reinforce its drive to fight the divisive status quo and improve online discourse. OpenWeb Co-Founder/CEO Nadav Shoval said, “Working with COLLINS has been an incredible experience. Together, we brought our mission to improve online conversation to life – transforming our brand to reflect the truly mission-driven company we are today.”
