The Minnesota Timberwolves recently unveiled a new team logo in an event at Target Center. RARE Design of Hattiesburg MS has revamped brand as part of a “new era of Timberwolves basketball.”
Timberwolves CEO Ethan Casson is eager to present the new, improved team image, and he hints that there are more innovations to come. “This is but the first of many changes that fans will see that reflect our growing relevancy at home and abroad. These are exciting times for our state and our franchise, and this new logo embodies the hunger, drive, and passion that will define us …” The new logo keeps the key elements that have been with the team for three decades: the wolf, the blue and green color palette, and a basketball.
RARE Design CEO Rodney Richardson, who brought his branding vision to the Timberwolves, also expresses gratitude and anticipation for the growth of the Timberwolves brand: “The people of Minneapolis-St. Paul have a strong work ethic and an understated character of excellence. They are a people who want to do things right, to protect and preserve their vision of family and unity. All of these attributes are evident on our development of the brand.”
